Theories in Karnatic Music for Intermediate level are an extension of the basic course. It is standalone course. Or it is a stepped up version for any student who opted for the basic course. The rudiments of Carnatic style is covered to a greater depth. The Swaravalis, Jhantis, Alankaras now progress to Swaras (Notes) Melakartas (Fundamental patterns of notes), Raga (musical scale) and Tala(Rhythm).
eAmbalam has designed a course that features the famous composers in four South Indian languages: Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam. The fervor of devotion is immortalized by legendary composers like Tyagaraja (Telugu), Purandaradasa (Kannada), Bharatiyar (Tamil) and Swati Tirunal (Malayalam) for instance.
Any layman or music connoisseur would get a glimpse of history (the story of our land down the ages): of different kingdoms, of the Bhakti movement – Nayanmars, Azhwars, Annamacharya and so many whose compositions still feel the Sanctum Santorum of temples to this day. Like we say, you start with a thread somewhere and before long you’ll find ancient architecture, kingdoms, sculpture, and dance.
