T.V.Ramprasadh
A prominent Carnatic classical vocalist, his captivating voice, clarity in diction, uncompromising adherence of tradition and unique style have evoked unqualified approbation of all listeners. He has had his initial training under Mahalakshmi Natarajan (Bombay) and Sharada Satyanarayana and later under R.R.Keshavamurthy, T.V.Gopalkrishnan, S.Rajam and P.S.Narayanaswamy.
An A-grade All India Radio artist, he is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Govt of India and has performed in USA, UK, Germany, France, Holland, Austria, Singapore and Malaysia. Ramprasadh has composed music for documentary films, cassettes and dance productions. Kosmic Music, Music Today, HMV, Times Music, Amutham Inc of USA, Lahari, Sangeetha have also released his audio albums
He has been awarded with the titles Asthaana Vidwaan of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Kanchipuram; Naada Vallabha ; Gayana Gandharva ; Ganakala Visharada and Youth Excellence Award, from Rotary Club of Madras. He has also received Best Vocalist awards from Music Academy, Krishna Gana Sabha and Indian Fine Arts Society in successive years.
He has been training students in India and abroad. He has conducted workshops, given lectures on music in different countries, contributed articles on music to various publications and conducted music appreciation programs in Bangalore and Chennai.
A Cost Accountant, Lawyer and Masters in Music by qualification, he has chosen music as his profession and is married to Indira Kadambi, a well known Bharatanatyam artiste with whom he founded Ambalam, Centre for Performing Arts in 1989, Ambalam Arts & Culture Pvt. Ltd in 2011 with the brand name eAmbalam and in 2012 launched Kalpavriksha Online College of Arts, the world’s first online college of Indian classical performing arts with Yoga, headquartered at Chennai.
Indira Kadambi
A brilliant performer, a sensitive and innovative choreographer, Indira Kadambi has carved a niche for herself as one of the excellent exponents of Bharatanatyam today with nearly three decades of performing experience. Indira has performed in several national and international festivals and has traveled widely to countries like UK, USA, Germany, France, Holland, and Malaysia for performances, lectures and workshops.
Blending the form and content in an aesthetic manner, her works are traditional yet contemporary keeping in focus the contemporary awareness. Some of her popular works are Varsha Rithu – The Monsoon; Hasya – Humor; Vamshi – The Divine Flute; Purusha Parinaam – Man through Time; and many others.
Awards and honors and the reviews in the papers, interviews for the various radios, television networks and the press have brought her art more recognition. Narada Gana Sabha, Natyarangam, Chennai honoured her with an award for a Senior Dancer, 2002. In 1993 she was honored by the South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Government of India. The other awards received by her include the Natya Shanthala title conferred on her in 1996.
She is the Director of Performing Arts at eAmbalam, Chennai. She has been training several dedicated students in India and abroad and some of them have blossomed into talented performers.
Vishnu Ramprasad
A freelance guitar player and prodigy, Vishnu is popular as the founding member of the New-age World Music band ‘Karmic Blues’. Having performed all over the country at some of the most distinguished venues and festivals, and done numerous sessions and collaborations, he is notable for his expression and finger work on the band’s material, filled with some exquisite guitar work.
Hailing from a family of musicians, Vishnu took to Indian music early, and began heavily incorporating nuances of Carnatic music into his blues-rooted playing. His teachers include stalwarts like eminent Karnatic vocalist T. V. Ramprasadh (his father) for Vocal, Ghatam Suresh for Kanjira and Neil Mukherjee and John Antony in the field of Guitar. He has also been awarded the Exceptional Performer award, Pogo Amazing Musician award in 2010.
Vishnu has collaborated and jammed with Oliver Fox (Germany, Sax), Shankar Tucker, Robbert van Hulzen (Holland, Drums), T.V.Ramprasadh (Vocal), Vijayagopal (Flutes), Betty Jardin (Keys/vocals), K.Sathyanarayanan (Keyboard), Steve Zerlin(Guitar), MT Aditya Srinivasan (Tabla) and Ayman Boujlida (Tunisia, Drums).
17 year old Vishnu currently pursues his higher secondary education from the Cambridge International Education system doing an A level course from home while practicing and composing music and teaching Guitar to students in all age groups from 10 – 44 years old.
