Objectives

To introduce compositions which are complex in nature, where the song is divided into pallavi, anupallavi and charanas – with the charanas set to different dhattus (patterns) or sometimes nadais (gaits).

To introduce students for the first time to compositions rendered first as swaras and then the corresponding lyrics or sahithya.
