Vijaya Dashami
The celebrations of Navarāthri come to an end with the Vijaya Daśhami festival. Vijaya Daśhami marks the end of all evil and the rise of a new dawn – a fresh beginning. In the northern regions of India, this day is considered as the day when Lord Rāma killed the evil Rāvaṇa. Rāvaṇa’s effigies are burnt as a part of celebrations. It is believed that Goddess Dhurgā who arrived for Dhurgā Pūjā to bless her children return on Daśhami day. This day is considered auspicious for all making new beginnings in education, music & art. Also, for new businesses & investments, it is considered ideal.
